At some point in time, you’re bound to fall out of love with your visual branding. It happens to all of us. No seriously, it does. One day you will start to feel like your brand is ready for a new chapter and not only is that okay, that is a great thing, even if it might not feel like it at the moment. For a lot of business owners, it can be stressful to acknowledge that it is time for a rebrand. You put your blinders on and try to deny the truth as long as you can. While putting off a rebrand might not seem detrimental at first, you are losing out on expanding your business and properly attracting your target audience (yes, this is directly affecting your ability to make a sale).

Is it time for a rebrand?

So, how do you know it truly is time to say goodbye to your current branding? Here are a few signs that a fresh start might be exactly what you need:

1. When you look at your branding, it feels more like an older version of your business, rather than exciting you about what it could be. Maybe those old logos, color schemes, and typography excited you during your business’ creation, but now when you look at your brand, it no longer sparks that same joy and excitement. If the first thing you think of when reviewing your branding is an old version of your business and it doesn't excite you - it is time for a refresh!

2. Your business has evolved over time in services, prices, or values/mission statements. Your branding should reflect how you want people to say, think and feel about your business when you are not in the room. If your services have taken a new direction, it is time for your branding to evolve as well.

3. You have a feeling that your branding is not connecting with your audience how you want it to be or you are not reaching your target audience. Maybe YOU fell in love with your original logo, it’s something that you love to look at, but it doesn’t seem to be resonating with your target audience. Revv is huge on two things: 1. You are NOT your business, it is something entirely separate from you (most of the time) and will have a different personality than you. That is a good thing! 2. You may have passions that you are hell-bent on sharing with your audience, but it just isn't something your audience cares about. If your audience doesn't care, it will not attract them. The same goes for your branding. If you do not feel like your target audience is being attracted to your business, it’s time to seriously consider a rebrand.

Okay, so you’ve finally accepted that now is the time for a true rebrand for your business. You may be thinking, what next? There is a sense of urgency behind a rebrand once you have committed to the best direction for you and your brand. We know how overwhelming and anxiety-fueled it can be for a business owner to connect the gap of knowing they need a branding refresh while trying to figure out how to approach it creatively.
